New Graphic Design Senior Project

New Graphic Design Senior Project

A new Graphic Design Senior Project class has opened for the Fall semester.

SIMPLE OVERVIEW:
This particular senior project will be focused on exploring relationships to a theme and the various facets of "contemporary design."

Steps
1. Students and professor will begin the semester with a series of discussions exploring a set of interests of the student's.

2. Through these discussions and rough explorative exercises (brainstorming/listmaking/sketching), students and professor(s) will agree on a topic which will provide each participant with a theme for the semester.

3. Once a topic has been selected, the student will propose between two (2) and four (4) projects which will inform the process of the students exploration of said theme. Particular attention will be paid to ensuring that each of the explorations of the theme address both a different thread of the theme and discipline in design (motion/web/print/3D/etc.); the semester will be broken into modules with a few weeks being spent on each component of the exploration. Students will be able to work at their own pace, as each student will have their own track.

4. As always, the goal is for everyone involved to have some fun. Students will make work that is: functionally communicative, idea based and "beautiful" (as in, every most mother(s) thinks their own child is attractive).

The class will be taught by Frank DeRose, partner at Zut Alors!
