Students learn about communication design in the context of professional practice, how personal communication skills impact the quality of the work, and how an understanding of society, politics, culture and the economy can help to better assess clients, their businesses and their audiences. Both classroom discourse and homework assignments involve looking at people, relationships, business, market, history, media, and technology. We practice a wide range of idea development strategies, exercise thinking skills, and develop informed respect for businesses and for the value of working in teams.
