This course emphasizes the business of design Whether you're looking to pursue a design career in the corporate world, or in an agency, or design studio, be a freelance creative, or start your own business this course will develop a basic understanding of brands and brand essence, brand equity and the creative's position in the processes of business. Students will create a business for which they will develop a mission statement, an essence, a strategy and an identity. They will learn the vocabulary of the business of design while learning to estimate jobs, figure out a profit margin, write and present proposals in PowerPoint, and turn their creativity into a way to earn a living.
