This course is an intensive workshop in the creation of realistic and surrealistic pictures using the pre-eminent software application for digital image manipulation. Classes are held in computer labs equipped with Macintosh computers running the latest version of Adobe Photoshop. Flatbed scanners are provided in the lab. A slide scanner is also available. One major assignment will extend over the entire semester. The assignment will be to make a creative photo montage from your own photographs. The final presentation must include your final artwork as well as your original source photographs. Use of stock or swipe photography is not permitted.
