Visiting Assistant Professor

Jim Hoston earned his BFA in Illustration from Pratt Institute and his MFA from the New York Academy of Art. He is Assistant Adjunct Professor at Pratt Institute in the COMD Department and Adjunct professor in the Graduate Program of figurative art at the New York Academy. Mr. Hoston has exhibited his personal works at the Hirschl and Adler Modern gallery in Manhattan, The Studio Museum in Harlem, the Copley Society in Boston and with the Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor, Long Island.

His illustrations have been exhibited at the Society of Illustrators, the Pennsylvania Academy of Art, and venues all across the United States. Jim has extensive work experience with the fine artist Jeff Koons, the Marvel Entertainment Group, and the Evergreene Painting Studios in Manhattan. A partial list of Illustration clients include Sony Music Entertainment, Uniworld Advertising Group, the Sands Casino and Hotels, MacMillan publishing, McGraw Hill publishing, the Weekly Reader and Scholastic, Inc. He resides and maintains a studio in Brooklyn, New York. 

Jim teaches Illustration I and Illustration II.
