Kyle graduated from the California College of Arts in San Francisco. After school he went to work for IDEO before moving to New York to take a job as a Sr. Designer in the On Air graphics department at MTV. MTV lead him to opening his own studio, A Minor Variant, specializing in motion graphics and direction. He now works as the design director for Deutsch NY, working with clients from Microsoft to Milk and Direct TV, while still continuing to work on more independent projects through A Minor Variant.

Kyle’s career has spanned the worlds of branding, print, digital, motion graphics, live action direction and advertising. His work combines theory and form to communicate stories in any medium. He has been recognized by the ADC, Print Magazine, the One Club and has been published in James Victore’s book Lust.

When not in front of a computer or a class room you may find him driving motorcycles in India, snowboarding in Lake Tahoe, surfing in Puerto Rico or walking the dog in Greenpoint.
