Ricardo Armas

Visiting Assistant Professor

Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1952. A photographer since 1970 when he was 18 years old, Mr. Armas has had a long career as a visual artist and as a professional photographer.

A self-taught photographer at first, Mr. Armas came to NYC in 1979 to be part of the General Studies Program at the International Center of Photography. 

His photographic work which includes portraits of visual artists & writers, along with personal explorations of urban landscapes, has been exhibited in the United States, South America and Europe, and has been included in several international art collections and published in catalogs and books.

He has been a visiting instructor at Pratt Institute since 2005.

Mr. Armas lives with his family in Brooklyn, NY

Ricardo teaches ComD Imaging I and ComD Imaging II.
